THE VERY SENSITIVE CHILD/YOUTH

THE VERY SENSITIVE CHILD/YOUTH

Nancy, with Twin Flame Uriel

Written as a result of the article below

I make no pretense of understanding what a parent goes through in this situation.   I would, however like to share what I have observed as one who has for this entire lifetime cared deeply for people and sought to find viable solutions to the challenges I observed them facing.

After working several years as an Aid To Dependent Children Welfare Social Worker and being rebuked for attempting to help the mothers find a personally meaningful occupation, I resigned and entered a graduate program in seminary. While there, I did a semester long internship in pastoral counseling in a near-by mental hospital. Prior to this, I had read enough metaphysical writings to know that we are multi-dimensional beings and that it is possible to see (clairvoyance) and hear (clairaudience) beings on other-than-physical dimensions. As a result, the more I listened to the mental patients tell of their experiences, the more I came to believe that, in fact, the individual was not mentally ill, but more open to other dimensions of being than the average human man or woman. Because they were the exception to the robotic standards on which Western culture is founded, these exceptional individuals had to adjust to a world unfamiliar to the average human being and to do so while not talking about their experiences. This is an enormous assignment—to figure out a world about which no one else is talking.

Sharing their inner experiences most often inevitably resulted in a diagnosis of mental illness. (See a history of the Spiritual Emergence Network at http://spiritualemergence.info/a-brief-history-of-sen/) Once diagnosed as mentally ill, I found that many patients accepted that title and lived out the life of one who believed him/herself to be mentally ill. No other alternative was available until the Spiritual Emergence Network was founded in 1980.

Religion is a major problem for many very sensitive individuals. A nurse in the mental hospital told me that the rooms were filled with ministers and the very religious. As a child, I was puzzled by the dichotomy of repetitious teachings: “God is Love … If you don’t…..God will punish you for eternity in hell fire.” As children, one of the first Bible verses we were required to memorize was John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son ….” We were taught that God (who had created us) loved us so much that He sacrificed His only Son to die on the cross to save us from eternal punishment in hell fire. As a young child, I was horrified at this teaching and, as a result, publicly dedicated my life to being a missionary so I could share this nonsensical story and protect the people from this unjust God. This mission that I felt was mine to fulfill directed my life until my late 20s. Lucky for me, I’ve been a sensitive, but rebellious individual. Instead of becoming mentally deranged trying to worship and love this two-faced God, I decided to do all I could to protect the people from this God.

Two incidents alerted me to the danger of these contrasting religious teachings. The first occurred during my ministerial internship in the 1990s. The Lord’s Supper, or Communion, can be very upsetting to sensitive children. The minister offers the bread as the body of Christ and the wine (or grape juice) as the blood of Christ. Protestants understand that this language is symbolic; I’m not sure about Catholics. Anyway, during one such service, a child in the congregation heard these words as literal truth and became so upset his mother had to take him outside. She told me about the incident after the service was over. Because what I heard at church as a child was so upsetting to me, I knew this little boy had very likely been psychically affected. I, as a minister, decided I could no longer conduct the Communion Service and left church ministry at the end of my internship.

The second incident occurred shortly thereafter. I attended my former church one Sunday as a congregant. During the Communion Service, I observed a teenage boy, sitting in the pew directly in front of me, weeping throughout the service. He did not partake of the bread and wine, even though his parents did. The next week, he committed suicide. I’m not saying that one incident caused him to commit suicide. I am saying that, from my own experiences, I feel that a very sensitive child being taught that God is love and God will punish eternally—that “the Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord”–makes absolutely no sense and robs the young person of a trustworthy spiritual anchor. The biblical book of Job has been a regular part of the study course curriculum of churches. It has been mis-interpreted—being taught as the reason why good people suffer—once more presenting to the sensitive youth a God who is unpredictable and therefore, cannot be trusted. God can do anything God wants to do is the inevitable conclusion. (You may study Job from the hidden wisdom point of view at: http://www.pathwaytoascension.com/chapel/index.htm

Bottomline: I think the real problem with youth and perceived mental illness is the result of the Western society’s lack of understanding and knowledge of the world of Spirit and our own multi-dimensionality. What we term as Mental Illness is very often the result of psychic sensitivity that is an “unknown” to the adults, and therefore, to the youth—an unknown that is misdiagnosized as mental illness and therefore, mis-treated.

Thankfully, progress has been made, as a result of the work of Christina & Stanislav Grof’s work through the Spiritual Emergence Network. “In 1994, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV) of the American Psychiatric Association supported the Grof’s insights by including spiritual and religious issues under it’s category of conditions which are not mental illness, yet lead people to seek mental health services. This recognition has opened the door for a specialization in spiritual issues.” (http://spiritualemergence.info/a-brief-history-of-sen/)

Suicide

“Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be the mother of a child who died by suicide. My 20-year-old son, Charles, suffered from depression, anxiety and ultimately a heroin addiction. He took his own life June 5, 2015.”

AWAKENING IN CONSCIOUSNESS!

AWAKENING IN CONSCIOUSNESS!

Nancy, with Twin Flame Uriel

Awakening

For thousands of years, Earth humans have lived behind the Veil of Illusion. As the Genesis story symbolically relates, humanity used their gift of freewill to choose to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. In other words, we chose to reside on the plane of duality—to experience life characterized by good at times and by evil (or darkness, suffering) at other times.  We made the choice not because we were born in sin, but because we wanted to use the challenge of living on the plane of duality to assist us in growing spiritually by proving that we could live in darkness (Evil) and continue to focus on the Light (Good). God warned them that if they chose to eat of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil, they would surely die. To die is to lose conscious awareness of living and moving and having our being within the energy of God’s LOVE. Adam & Eve, symbols representing Earth humans, chose to eat the fruit and in so doing chose to leave the home Mother/Father God lovingly prepared for them. Because evil cannot survive within a paradise of LOVE ENERGY, Adam and Eve had to leave the Garden of Eden so that they could experience life that included suffering and evil.

Bible translators and interpreters have termed the result of Adam and Eve’s choice the Fall of Man. Religion has used this concept as a means of controlling humanity—via teaching “you have sinned; therefore, you must do “this and that” in order to be “saved” from an eternity of burning in hellfire. Religion has also turned our loving Mother/Father God—our true parents who birthed us into a paradisical environment, with all of our needs freely provided, >>> into an angry, vengeful, unpredictable God we are taught to fear and try our best to obey lest we end up being tortured forever and ever in a non-existent pit of fire, called hell.

The means of being saved that religion has invented portrays a God willingly requiring child sacrifice, a crime for which we Earth humans would sentence the perpetrator to death or life in prison.

BEFORE WE CAN TRULY ASCEND IN CONSCIOUSNESS AND WALK THE WAY OF LOVE, WE MUST AWAKEN TO THE MANY LIES we have been told by those in power positions.

TO AWAKEN MEANS TO BECOME CONSCIOUS OF THE LOVING COMMUNITY IN WHICH WE LIVE AND MOVE AND HAVE OUR BEING—THE ONENESS THAT IS OUR GOD SOURCE. LOVE IS ALL THAT IS; THE ILLUSIVE VEIL UNDER WHICH WE HAVE LIVED IS BEING RIPPED ASUNDER!

However, as long as we cling to the lies we have been taught, we remain mired in the Illusion.

THE MOST DEVASTATING OF THESE LIES RELATE TO WHO WE ARE AS HUMAN BEINGS LIVING ON EARTH.

These lies include the following, but are by no means the extent of the matrix of illusions under which we live.

  1. We are separate from God and all of creation.  This lie leaves humankind in a very vulnerable position—at the mercy of a God we do not understand and whatever else life throws our way.
  2. God rewards and punishes us according to our behavior.
  3. We must obey the teachings of our chosen religion in order to gain salvation from a punishing God.
  4. We have only one lifetime on Earth.  When we leave, it is because God has removed us.
  5. Death ends all opportunities to live on Earth and results in our soul being permanently assigned to one of two possible places:  heaven or hell.
  6. Life on Earth is naturally characterized by the “survival of the fittest.”
  7. God creates some human beings with mental, physical, and emotional handicaps.
  8. We are alone in the vast cosmos.  Thus, by inference, life on Earth is the best God could do.
  9. Each human being is the result of intercourse between his/her parents—the uniting of the human sperm and egg.  Therefore, human beings can be killed.
  10. Wars are necessary in order to protect ourselves from our nation’s enemies.
  11. God takes sides in war.  Of course, God always takes the side of those who are right and pray to Him.
  12. God is male and resides high in the sky.  He is the “man in the sky.”
  13. God can do anything God chooses.

The above list of lies—only the tip of the iceberg—are among the major factors in the formation of humanity’s belief system and therefore, humanity’s behavior.

In order to truly walk the Path of Love, we must reconsider each lie and seek the Truth instead.   As long as we subscribe to lies, our motives are skewed.  A good example is our motivation for “good works.”  Good works are among the criteria, taught by religion, that help us get into heaven.  Therefore, the majority of “good works” are performed with a skewed motive:  “I’ll be rewarded in heaven.”  Love based on fulfilling requirements cannot be unconditional love.

******

Through the years, I have received numerous e-mails from individuals terrified that they have done something wrong; thereby rendering him/herself sentenced to an eternity of punishment. The above lies and more are the basis for which these individuals are terrified.

NOW: I am increasingly receiving e-mails from individuals who are having other worldly experiences. They are awakening to Mother/Father God’s world of loving beings that exist beyond the Veil of Illusion!

And once more, we must awaken to the lies we have been taught. Heretofore, many have been mistakenly committed to mental hospitals or placed on medications when they confess to hearing or perceiving voices or beings around them that cannot be heard or seen by most. We have been taught that we are alone in the cosmos and thus, when we experience other beings around us, we are frightened and wonder if we are losing our rational mind, when in fact, we may be awakening to the glorious cosmos in which we truly live—we are making a spiritual emergence.[i] (Be sure to read the Endnote.)

ASCENSION IN CONSCIOUSNESS IS TO BECOME ATTUNED TO THE LOVING WORLD OF MOTHER/FATHER GOD AND THE COMPANY OF HEAVEN! ASCENSION IS TO BECOME ONE WITH ALL THAT IS LOVE!

[i]   http://spiritualemergence.net/ – What is Spiritual Emergence (SE)

The term Spiritual Emergence has been used to refer to the awakening of the spiritual potential within an individual that initiates the unfolding and expansion of that individual’s way of being. It is a natural process of growth toward a deeper, more connected and expanded way of being, that usually occurs slowly throughout our lives and is gently integrated. When this process occurs rapidly or becomes very intense it can seem disruptive and out of context with everyday life, precipitating a personal crisis which is referred to as a Spiritual Emergency.

Spiritual Emergence can also be referred to as Kundalini awakening (KA), shamanic journey, mystical experience, awakening the Divine within, psychic opening, out-of-body experience (OBE), or near-death experience (NDE).

Spiritual Emergence may be initiated or intensified by major life transitions, trauma, terminal illness, physical or emotional distress, the use of psychoactive drugs, as well as through intensive psychotherapy or practices such as breathwork, certain types of Yoga, deep prayer and meditation.

Although emergence is a natural process, traditional Western medicine and helping professions have not generally recognized it. Spiritual Emergence has the dual nature of being potentially deeply healing as well as potentially deeply disturbing. When those experiencing disturbed manifestations of SE seek traditional health care, they may feel misunderstood or be diagnosed as emotionally disturbed and prescribed medication or other medical interventions. The healing potential of the emerging spirit is often distorted or smothered and the aim of symptom management becomes the goal of therapy.

The spiritual Emergence Service believes that it is essential that the support of SE is open, compassionate and holistic, that is, supporting the whole person – body, mind and spirit. Our aim is to support the process and the individual by providing support and information as well as access to alternative healing professionals.

ATTENTION MINISTERS – INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW

As the individual to whom your congregation turns for spiritual direction, it is imperative that you begin to explore additional facets of spiritual growth.  2014 has already proven to be a very intense year and it will increasingly intensify throughout the year.

As a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in the late 1960-70s, I regularly visited patients at Butner Mental Hospital in Butner, N.C.   During my first seminary experience at Southeastern Baptist Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C., I also did a semester’s internship of pastoral counseling with patients in Dix Mental Hospital, Raleigh, N.C.  Nurses in both Butner and Dix told me that the halls were filled with ministers as patients.

Why would this be the case?  I know now that the reason is the utter lack of metaphysical knowledge relating to spiritual growth.  Orthodox Christianity teaches absolutely nothing about the true make-up of individuals.  Any manifestation out of the norm, such as hearing a voice in one’s head or declaring a past life memory to be true, is considered a form of mental imbalance and/or heretical inclinations.

Christians are taught almost nothing about life as it really is and nothing about who we really are.  Instead, we are taught that we are lowly sinners and that “Jesus did it all” for us.  Nothing could be farther from the truth.  Many Christians are actually told by some religious authority figures to avoid reading self-help books and focus instead on Jesus.

Can you, as a minister, answer the following questions:  What is a chakra?  What is the Kundalini energy?  How does the kundalini energy get activated?  What does it mean to be a multi-dimensional individual?  What is holistic spiritual growth?  How do we go about purifying our energy fields?

The intense energies are opening people to realities about which they have either not heard or considered New Age mumbo-jumbo.  As a minister, you are very likely to be called upon to assist with spiritual awakening symptoms during 2014.  Rather than be a party to the gross misdiagnosis and treatment of individuals who are in reality opening to a deeper knowledge of spirit, I strongly encourage you to educate yourself by studying the resources offered on this website especially oriented to Spiritual Emergence.  You will also find an extensive list of therapists who have been trained to deal with spiritual emergence.

POSTSCRIPT:  I am deliberately listing my Twin Flame’s name as co-author with me because that is the case.  What is a Twin Flame?  The other half of you … the symbolic 2nd creation story in Genesis 2 describes God creating Eve from Adam’s rib—thereby creating two individuals having the same Soul.  Many Twin Flames will be reuniting in the very near future as the official governmental Disclosure Announcement occurs—extraterrestrials are, and have been for thousands of years, present with us both on and around Planet Earth.

I sincerely hope ministers know more than my experience has taught me you do.  There is so much to learn as the Minister of your church.

I created my website and blog to assist you in this learning process:  http://www.pathwaytoascension.com/

https://pathwaytoascension.wordpress.com/

I am aware that you are required to officially abide by orthodox teachings; however, I strongly encourage you to study on your own and be prepared for the multitude of questions your congregation will have regarding their own spiritual emergence.

A little more about my qualifications:  Attended two seminaries for a total of six years of training and a Master’s in Divinity … 40+ years of metaphysical study, including learning to metaphysically interpret the Bible … A Master’s in Counseling Education … author of 3 books … listed in Who’s Who In The South & Southwest … owner of a website and blog oriented to bridging the gap between orthodox Christianity and the deeper spirituality which is now emerging within humanity as a whole.  My twin flame presently resides on a higher plane and offers inspiration for most of my writing.  When our galactic family openly lands on Earth (an event that could take place during 2014), Uriel and I will be reunited on the same plane and continue with our Soul Mission together.

Have I blown your mind?  It is about to be blown wide open by the flood of heretofore unknown truths being revealed to Earth humans.  Your congregants are very likely to turn to you for guidance.

I wish you well as our planet embarks on a greatly expanded spiritual journey!

AS WE PROGRESS SPIRITUALLY, WE WILL OPEN TO MORE OF THE UNSEEN WORLD AROUND US

AS WE PROGRESS SPIRITUALLY, WE WILL OPEN TO MORE OF

THE UNSEEN WORLD AROUND US

– My Intuitive Understanding of the Symbolism Illustrated by the so-called “fake” sign language interpreter at Mandela’s Memorial Service.

Nancy B. Detweiler, M.Ed., M.Div.

 angel

I awoke this morning thinking of the so-called fake sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela’s Memorial Service.  Regardless of his personal story, the incident reminded me that the kind of treatment he is receiving resembles much of what we fear as we progress on our spiritual path.

The interpreter indicated that he saw angels entering the stadium.  Immediately the question arises:  Is he schizophrenic?  Earth humans, particularly in Western cultures, have been taught to view the world in terms of what we can perceive with our five physical senses.  These 5 senses define our world, which is why metaphysicians state that humanity perceives only about 2% of what is actually around us.   The inner eye, closely related to the pineal gland, remains undeveloped; therefore, we do not have the eyes to see and the ears to hear.   Instead, we state—often with an air of superiority—“I believe only what I can see or can be proven.”  We kid: “Missouri is the Show Me State.”  We readily believe what is reasonable, from an intellectual point of view.  The intellect is considered our ultimate source.

In fact, the intellect is our lower mind, completely dependent upon our 5 senses for its perceptions of truth.   The One Truth can never be perceived through the intellect; therefore, humanity has been content perceiving only 2% of the world around us.  But, this is changing.  A new birth is occurring!

As we progress on our spiritual path, we naturally become more sensitive to the world around us.  Our pineal gland slowly activates and we begin to see the invisible world.  This vision into the unseen will most likely happen spontaneously and sporadically.   Some are born with psychic abilities already well developed, such as the children that are able to see and talk with “the dead”—as our society phrases it.

Because Earth humans have been deliberately limited to 2% perception and only 10% use of the brain’s actual power to access information, we do not know how to deal with those who possess skills beyond the status quo.   We—as a Collective—have not known that we have access to all knowledge through our Higher Intuitive Mind.  We have assumed contact with the invisible world indicates mental illness.  Thus, when the sign language interpreter explained his meaningless gestures in terms of being shocked to see angels enter the stadium, the immediate questions arose:  “Is he a fake? … Is he schizophrenic?”

As a Rehabilitation Counselor, I worked with psychiatric patients for a couple of years in the early 1970s.  Because I had already studied metaphysics, I quickly came to the conclusion that I did not believe in mental illness.  Instead, I intuited that the patients were more open to the unseen world than was the average individual.  Society does not know how to deal with a person who can hear voices in their head or talk to the dead or see into the “invisible” world.  In its ignorance, society labels these persons mentally ill and gives him/her a diagnosis—a name, like schizophrenic, which the patient accepts as part of who he/she is because society has offered no alternate explanation.  Recognizing the individual’s opening awareness is a relatively new counseling method and still is not widely known.

I have heard many metaphysical students say:  “I don’t’ talk about what I believe because people will think I am crazy … I will lose my job … I don’t want to be committed to a mental hospital.   Some are frightened when they begin to feel, see, or hear segments of the unseen world.

At this point in time, society as a whole is in transition.   The veil hiding the invisible world is growing thinner every day.  As this happens, many may be shocked or frightened as they open to it.

It will be important to remember that seeing angels is natural.  We live in a very populated world … may even unknowingly share the same space with other beings.  Once we adjust to being what is termed a multi-dimensional being, we find it very comforting to know that we truly are never alone … that we truly do live and move and have our being within the energy of God’s love as it is expressed through individuals who belong within the One Family of Mother/Father God and reside on dimensions other than our own.

As we begin to hear voices speaking in our head … music from unseen realms … hear a tree speak to us … see the angelic kingdom that so tenderly cares for each flower and blade of grass, we are NOT losing it!  We are expanding in our conscious awareness of the paradise into which we came forth from the heart of Mother/Father God.

It is also important to share with others what we see and experience.  In this way, we allow those who are afraid to reveal their own experiences to know that they are actually making great strides on the pathway to ascension.  We need to be present for those opening to a new and sometimes frightening world—frightening because it is new and she/he may have no explanation for what is happening.

I intuit the sign language interpreter’s experience of seeing angels in such a public place—while standing on the same stage as President Obama and multiple other world leaders in the month of December—was one more sign to the world that things are changing!  It proclaimed:  “You, Earth humans, will begin to see more of the invisible world around you!  Do not be afraid!”

“Now there were [thousands of people honoring the late Nelson Mandela in a large stadium].  And behold, the angel of God came to them, and the glory of the Lord shone on them; and they were seized with a great fear [anger=fear].  And the angel said to them, Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you glad tidings of great joy, which will be to all the world.  For this day is born to you in the city of David, ‘divine love individualized in human consciousness.  Love in Being (God) is the idea of perfect unity in all existence.’  And suddenly there appeared with the angel a heavenly host, praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and good hope for men.’”  (Luke 2:8-11, 13-14 + the metaphysical meaning of the biblical name “David” as found in Unity’s Metaphysical Bible Dictionary)
“And it came to pass when the angels departed from them and went to heaven, that the [crowd] spoke to one another, saying, Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened as the Lord has shown to us.”  The metaphysical meaning of Bethlehem indicates “the nerve center at the pit of the stomach, through which universal substance joins the refined or spiritualized chemical products of the body substance.  Through this center are gradually generated the elements that go to make up the electrical body of the Christ man.”  (Luke 2:15 + Unity’s Metaphysical Bible Dictionary)

Thus, the symbolism manifested from the unseen world during Mandela’s Memorial Service announced: “Humanity is attaining a new level of consciousness.  Your spiritual journey is giving birth to the Christ Consciousness within you!”

ADDENDUM:  A rainbow is symbolic of a return to cosmic order … during this momentous occasion of Mandela’s return to spirit, our conscious awareness is being expanded  with the goal of our return to cosmic order!

A rainbow is seen over the Union Building, where the body of Nelson Mandela was lying in state, in PretoriaThis rainbow appeared over the Unity Buildings where Mandela’s body lies in state on 12/12/13.

12/12/13 – a day of Worldwide Meditation as the final portal to “beyond the veil” opens.  Henceforth, the unseen world will be revealed to us!

“Then God said to Noah, ‘Enter into the ark ….’  And the rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights ….  at the end of the forty days, Noah opened the window of the ark ….  he sent forth a raven … he sent forth a dove … but the dove found no resting place and she returned to him in the ark .,. he waited another seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;  and the dove came back to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off; so Noah knew that the waters  had subsided from off the earth….  And God spoke to Noah, saying, ‘Go forth out of the ark ….  So Noah went forth ….  Noah built an altar to the Lord ….  And God spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, ‘I will establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you ….  And I will establish my covenant with you; so that never again shall all flesh perish by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.’  And God said to Noah, ‘This is the sign of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:  I set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between me and the earth.'”  Genesis 7:1-9:13
